چکیده

Iron-bearing minerals are the most important interfering compounds that found with bauxite reserves. The element iron has adverse effects on applications, including use of in refractory soils. purpose this research is to investigate possibility removal from low-grade ores utilize them industries. For achieving purpose, tests were performed samples an alumina silica modulus 0.73. After determining appropriate method among magnetic separation, calcination, and leaching (with H2SO4 HCl) processes, optimal separation conditions determined by designed using Taguchi method. According results, HCl for raw feed (un-calcined) provided best result removal. During test, Fe2O3 grade decreased 5.14% 0.08%, increased 0.75. Calcination concentrate obtained test led favorable results reducing (0.04%) increasing Al2O3 grade. Afterwards, method, effect parameters such as time, process temperature, concentration, grain size processes discussed. efficiency a 250 µm achieved following conditions: 30% HCl, temperature 25°C, time 120 minutes. In case, 92.78% 0.56%, respectively.

Iron leaching from bauxite ore in hydrochloric acid using response surface methodology

In this work, hydrochloric acid is used to remove iron impurities in the bauxite ore contained in the diasporite mineral located in the Sari region. The bauxite ore was calcined at different temperatures and times, and then dissolved in a hydrochloric acid solution. After determining the optimum calcination conditions in 1 h at 900 °C, the response surface methodology (RSM) with four factors in...

Kinetics of chemical leaching of chalcocite from low-grade copper ore: size-distribution behavior

Kinetics of the chemical leaching of chalcocite from a low-grade copper ore in a ferric sulfate medium was investigated using the constrained least square optimization technique. The experiments were carried out for different particle sizes in both the reactor and column at constant Eh, pH, and temperature. The leaching rate increased with increase in the temperature. About 50% of the Cu recove...

Investigation of leaching kinetics of zinc from a low-grade ore in organic and inorganic acids

The leaching kinetics of a low-grade zinc oxide ore in different acid media was investigated with respect to the experimental variables including acid concentration, temperature, liquid to solid (L/S) ratio, and stirring speed. The results obtained showed that the leaching reagent concentration and the reaction temperature exerted significant effects on the extraction of zinc, whereas the L/S r...

Leaching of Lead and Zinc from a Low-Grade Oxide Ore in Citric Acid Media

Leaching of a low-grade lead and zinc oxide ore was studied by an organic reagent, citric acid. The quadratic mathematical models were developed for the relationship among the influential parameters and lead and zinc recoveries. Leaching rate was strongly affected by the interactive effects of factors. It was also found that the quadratic effects of stirring speed and linear<e...
